A Truth Journal: Why is Trump Catching on Fire? What Would His Cabinet Look Like? The Hilarious Lowdown

A Truth Journal: Why is Trump Catching on Fire? What Would His Cabinet Look Like? The Hilarious Lowdown: From Denny:  My fellow media are flabbergasted that billionaire Donald Trump is rising so fast in the Republican polls.  The media is so entrenched in their collective bias that they refuse to take his candidacy seriously.  Hold on to your hats, folks, because Trump will survive far beyond the summer flavor of the month.  Come on; we all know that former President Bill Clinton secretly got him to run as a way to help clean house on the Republican candidates, paving the way for Hillary to win.  Well, that strategy just might backfire since Trump is catching on with the disgruntled middle class.

Well, Trump may be stupidly wealthy but he still knows how to talk Middle Class in his brash Brooklyn accent.  In fact, Trump reminds me much of the very bold personality of President Teddy Roosevelt. And, he is every bit as passionate about his views, with plenty of real fire in the belly running for President that the American public likes in a presidential candidate.  We certainly are not seeing any of that fire in the belly with any other Republican candidates and only with one Democrat candidate, Bernie Sanders...

A Truth Journal: Funny Ad: Clean Up Congress: Pee Pads For Washington Politicians: From Denny:  Want to teach your politicians how to pee properly - instead of lifting their leg on you?  Just check out these new and improved pee pads for your favorite animal left indoors while you are away at work.  It's tough to trust your pet politician when you are not there to watch over their antics.

You just never know what they will do to smell up your home if you aren't there to stop them.  You just never know when they will pee on your leg unexpectedly.  They do so love to stink up the place with last minute legislation, earmarks and no-bid contracts at midnight that no one has been allowed to read in time before a crucial vote.

A Truth Journal: U.S. Govt, NSA, NORAD Surveil Santa On Christmas Eve: Follow His Global Journey: 4 funny videos and a lot of satire too.  From Denny:  Go ahead; set aside your paranoia about the intrusive oppressiveness of world governments - at least on Christmas Eve.  Real people like us at our house know that as long as Santa lives no one can successfully take over the world or be the boss of us.  We believe!

You see, Santa is not a terrorist unless you claim he is because for centuries he has aggressively marketed and promoted goodness and goodwill toward all.  World governments and diplomats could take lessons in good attitude and right intentions from Santa.

A Truth Journal: NSA Leak Satire: If You Really Believe U.S. Govt Then Awesome Investment Opportunities Available

Helicopter
An officer of the Afghan National Army looks at a refurbished Mi-17 helicopter
during a function at a military airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.

A Truth Journal: NSA Leak Satire: If You Really Believe U.S. Govt Then Awesome Investment Opportunities Available: From Denny:  Does anyone really believe the U.S. government and the President about this NSA leak?  No, of course not.

Are the polls running in favor of NSA leaker Edward Snowden labeled as a whistleblower rather than a traitor?  Yes, the American public really is smarter than a fifth grader though it appears the military, intelligence community (IC), Justice Department, Congress and the President cannot match wits with the American public.

So, in that vein, do I have several investment opportunities for the bone-head stupid and the gullible in our government.  They do so love to participate in the game of insider trading, coming to Washington as paupers when first elected and leaving just a few years later as millionaires.  My own Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal did just that when he went to Washington as a Congressman.  Why not follow his corrupt example?  Capitalism careening out of control is alive and well, thriving in Washington, D.C.

A Truth Journal: 2012 Presidential Debate Jokes, 18 Funny Photos, 3 Videos

A Truth Journal: 2012 Presidential Debate Jokes, 18 Funny Photos, 3 Videos: From Denny:  "Can you hear me now?"  Watch the Romney campaign in slow motion implode just in time to lose the election. (Oh, thank you, there is a God.)  Stupid on Steroids GOP Senate candidates keep talking about rape in ways to legitimize it.  The constant GOP rape talk does start you wondering if all of these men were actually once guilty of rape. Are these politicians trying to find ways to rationalize rape as no big deal to absolve them of their nagging conscience?

Colbert wipes the floor with these fools in clip after clip after he lists idiot comment after idiot comment in one long GOP brain diarrhea stream:  Team Rape.  There really should be an intelligence test - and a sanity test - for any one desiring to run for office.  We know who could not pass it.

A Truth Journal: Mocking The Romney Campaign: Late Nite Jokes, Funny Photos

A Truth Journal: Mocking The Romney Campaign: Late Nite Jokes, Funny Photos: From Denny:  Tomorrow night the big political match-up between the flip-flopping challenger Republican Mitt Romney and incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama will be nationally televised.  So far to date, Romney senior advisers have whined about the political polls incorrectly lean toward people identifying themselves as Democrats.

What's the matter?  Find your Republican base eroding?  Even here in former red state Louisiana droves of people no longer identify with the Republican Party and now list themselves as Independents.  If the Democrats actually got serious about making their case more Independents would sign on into the Democrat camp permanently.

More weird in this odd campaign, Romney sends out his wife to whine to the press about "how hard it is" to run for President.  Oh, please, watch the millionaire's wife bitch about working for a few short interview stints and campaign rallies.  How about all the people bitching as to why their pension funds are sitting in the Romney personal account because of his corporate raider ways?  Last time we all checked that's called "ill gotten gains."

The Social Poets: Hurricane Adventure: Cooking by Candlelight on the Bayou: From Denny:  Have you ever noticed that when you go off the grid your mind turns to comedy?  OK, during a hurricane the mind often slides on down toward dark humor.

After all, your brain is geared up to engage with technology and suddenly finds itself in total withdrawal.  And, it's a good thing that humor was created.  It's the best weapon in the human arsenal for survival.

I went off the grid for three days - and hot sweaty nights - during the very long week of Hurricane Isaac...

Week in the field—July 13th, 2012
Week in the field—July 13th, 2012 (Photo credit: Barack Obama)

From Denny:  With about 100 days until the 2012 election for a new President or a second term for President Obama, there is a lot stirring around in the news.  Both the Romney and Obama campaigns are working hard to influence opinion polls and the news coverage.

Somewhere along the way the truth has been buried.  Yet scandal after scandal emerges from the Obama administration while Romney stumbles with international gaffes.  All this explains why the polls reveal two-thirds of America thinks we are on the wrong track.

In the end, after each campaign collecting about $1 billion in donations, neither side appeals to the frustrated voters.  Collecting this high level of money makes them both look like crooks.  We all know to expect major advertising - carpet bombing style - on the airwaves after Labor Day in September and everyone is dreading it.  The American public moans about the negative campaigning and the saturation of ads as an intrusion into our private lives.

Americans are stressed enough with a terrible global economy teetering on a precipice; the last thing we want is more stress.  Yet our national politicians continue to shove down our throats what we don't want no matter in how many election cycles we scream back at them.

The two campaigns elbow out third alternative candidates like the Green Party's Dr. Jill Stein, yes, a woman running for President and as a doctor she's big on quality health care.  Cheri Honkala is her VP and an anti-poverty advocate.  With the way the middle class has disappeared down the rabbit hole the past couple of years from job loss and home foreclosures, we may require her expertise on the national level.

The two national dominant political campaigns, Republicans and Democrats, have also succeeded in keeping third party candidates from getting almost no press coverage.  Perhaps it's time for the American public to see the other choices that are not taking corporate or lobbyist money to betray the voters.  It really is time for a change - a big one.

The Social Poets: Romney: What Is It About American Republican Presidential Candidates Are So Socially Awkward?

Romney
Romney (Photo credit: Talk Radio News Service)

The Social Poets: Romney: What Is It About American Republican Presidential Candidates Are So Socially Awkward?: From Denny:  What is it about how the Republicans keep putting up one bad candidate after another?  The whole point of interacting with other world leaders is to cultivate at least the veneer of a polished and smooth sociability.

Obama has that "X" Factor - at least on the surface - and Mitt Romney decidedly does not have it - on the surface or deeper.  George Bush 43 didn't have it at all either.  He was downright vacuous.  Even nice Ike Eisenhower was known for his salty language and terribly confused communication, comprised of broken disjointed sentences, that the press was forever cleaning up before delivering his message to the public.

Yet America keeps on electing the socially awkward and the relationship insensitive.  Looks like Romney is well on his way to the White House.  He sure is trotting around the globe this past week meeting with world leaders like a trial run.  And the Obama presidency was an anomaly that looks like it is soon to be corrected by disgruntled voters.

The Social Poets: John Stewart and Colbert Mock LIBOR Credit Card Scandal

The Social Poets: John Stewart and Colbert Mock LIBOR Credit Card Scandal: From Denny:  Want to learn more about just how deep the global banking scandal goes?  But we want to laugh our way through the tutorial, right?  Look no further as both national comedians are here to guide us through a couple of hilarious tutorials that will have you grinning so wide your house will split apart.

It will also make you want to get your shotgun (if you own one) and run right down to the "hallowed halls" of the financial sector and join the Occupy protesters.  Now, more than ever, have the protesters succeeded in convincing us that all credit card holders are just financial slaves, doomed to serve the whims of Big Bank Sluts and Congress Whores, both whose masters are Greed.

But first a couple of facts to bring you up to speed in case your eyes glaze over when the financial guys on the news start talking:

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Way 4 U.S. Govt 2 Handle Mexican Drug Smugglers

Images of Strauss-Kahn's perp walk were condem...

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Way 4 U.S. Govt 2 Handle Mexican Drug Smugglers: From Denny:  Take a peek inside a living room as Middle Class America watches the news, offering up outrageous solutions to the nation's ills.

For decades, Mexican drug smugglers have been devising all kinds of effective methods to penetrate the American coastline.  The news anchor seems to think the various government agencies have proven effective at containing the Mexican drug smugglers on land.

Lately - yes, this is a real news story - the smugglers have turned to retrofitting simple Mexican fishing boats with multiple engines to skim across the water so fast you might blink your eyes and miss them.

Apparently, the Coast Guard and other government agencies working in unison, are on watch every night, seeking out the more than several dozen runs by the smugglers all along the California coastline.

This news clip shows how the law enforcement agencies are successful, and arresting all kinds of smugglers, all lined up for The Perp Walk.

Yeah, Middle America is sitting on the couch taking it all in, fidgeting with the remote, when a stellar idea pops into their heads.  All that arrest business sure is a lot of unnecessary work.  We have a more effective solution of how to deal with these cheesy Mexican smugglers.

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks Outrageous Arizona School Board Fearing Mexican-American Studies

Jon Stewart
Jon Stewart (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks Outrageous Arizona School Board Fearing Mexican-American Studies: From Denny:  The Daily Show may be a comedy show but Jon Stewart utilizes what is happening right here in America as material.  You can't make up this stuff.  It's unbelievable.  How do these incredibly insensitive - and more importantly, really stupid - people rise to such high positions of authority where they affect the lives of millions of people?  It's scary in its implications.

It's difficult to believe this superintendent actually has a doctorate in education.  Are you sure this guy didn't lie on his resume or buy his degree from some online scam site?  It's like listening to my Republican Louisiana Senator David Vitter who claims to be a Rhodes scholar and a lawyer who graduated Ivy League schools.  He can barely put a sentence together and lacks rational thinking just like this fool.

Watch as comic Al Madrigal baits this guy about Mexican-American studies now banned in Arizona's Tucson school district.  The reasons this superintendent gives are incredible, all based only upon hearsay. Hearsay - can you believe it? This guy who heads their school board never even bothered to talk to the teachers of the program or read any of the textbooks.  And he calls himself an educator?  Unbelievable.

Rush Limbaugh - Caricature

The Social Poets: Rush Limbaugh: Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire About Advertisers Status: From Denny:  I'm with Jon Stewart.  Rush Limbaugh just keeps on giving the comedy material, serving it up on a silver platter. His latest gambit is to now challenge the logic about his advertisers' performance since they left his show or if they stayed.

Normal people call it irrational logic, you know, an oxymoron attempt by Rush.  Sometimes, this guy is just too much fun to lampoon.  It's as silly as the research scientists who decided after lengthy study that, "People die six months before or six months after their birthdays."  That stupid study must have been underwritten by Limbaugh.

Ouch Outrageous Obnoxious and Odd: Funny Video: Flying Pig, No Wings Necessary

Flying Piglet

Ouch Outrageous Obnoxious and Odd: Funny Video: Flying Pig, No Wings Necessary: From Denny:  This is one of those unexpected videos from real life that catches you off guard.  The piglets and Momma pig were being filmed and discussed as to weaning time for the little guys.

Well, get a shocker as to how Big Pig quickly convinces her piglets to wean themselves.  Now you know where the children's books got the idea for flying pigs.  Watch closely as it happens so fast you might miss it.

Sort of reminds you of Wall Street Bankers where you sure would like to thump them all out, weaning them off corporate welfare and federal bailouts.

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks The Trayvon Martin Hoodie Threat: From Denny:  Jon Stewart lampoons hoodie wearing supportive journalists and politicians trying to join the trending and popular national conversation demanding a proper investigation into the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, a young black man deemed suspicious as he walked through a neighborhood wearing a hoodie.  Amazingly, without the public outcry and national pressure, the police had no intention of investigating the crime.

Dennys Funny Quotes: Funny Monday Morning Work Cartoons

Dennys Funny Quotes: Funny Monday Morning Work Cartoons: From Denny: Check out these funny work day cartoons I found hanging around in the draft section of this blog. Better yet, the cartoonists still have the embed codes enabled - which certainly makes me do a little Sesame Street Elmo Happy Dance.

Almost two years ago it was when a stable of famous cartoonists quit enabling the embed codes to their political cartoons on thousands of blogs and sites. Considering how much traffic we bloggers sent them that could not have been too smart a business move. Oh, well. :) It also explains why you will see blank areas in a post or web page and maybe a few cartoons still left to view.

One of these days I'll get around to doodling my own cartoons and put the embed codes up on flickr - free to bloggers forever. So, while you are waiting for Her Greatness to find the time to doodle you can enjoy these smart cartoonists who are still available for viewing, enjoy!

The Social Poets: Funny Friday: Jon Stewart Mocks GOP Fear of 2nd Obama Term

Jon Stewart
Jon Stewart (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)

The Social Poets: Funny Friday: Jon Stewart Mocks GOP Fear of 2nd Obama Term: From Denny: Leave it to the comics to ferret out the twisted thinking of the Republican political strategists. It's clear they are desperately reaching for just about anything to make their voters so terrified they will vote for any candidate they place in front of them. Yeah, their 2012 field is really that awful.

Of course, the Democrats have been running the same game to scare their voters into staying with Obama no matter how little he has done for them. The only difference is that they Democrats are correct about the Republicans' complete lack of leadership or interest in governing.

Dennys Funny Quotes: Fight Racism: Pass On This Funny Joke

Dennys Funny Quotes: Fight Racism: Pass On This Funny Joke: From Denny: Thanks to Niles Calder on Google+ for posting this good one. Be sure to visit his page and include him in your circle!

OK, so the journalist in me just had to edit the misspellings and grammatical errors... :) That's what you get when you are related to a beloved aunt who taught English literature and insisted upon all in its proper place.

Why stop there? Since there are differences between American and British English that confuse Americans I corrected the word choices and language flow. So, if you are British, Australian or Indian be sure to read the original on Calder's page - just so you don't end up confused.

Apparently, this joke goes back as far as 1998 and the days of the email sharing of favorite urban legends - according to Snopes.

And yet this garbage attitude continues to persist. Just check out my post over at The Social Poets: Prayer Curse: Republicans Call For Obama Death for a recent example. Until people grow up will things change for the better.

Do what you can to make the world a better place. When you protect the civil rights of others, you also protect your own. Helping others helps you too. Can Life get any better than that? It's that simple.
